I agree that Sachs is a nice guy, but I still think he should have been more savvy about the underlying intentions of the news media forces seemingly rushing to his defence.

I hope that there will be a backlash against the Mail &co for this affair, I am just worried that the somewhat spineless response by the BBC will mean that too much damage will be done before the dust settles.

Some of the messages to the BBC were almost certainly taken straight from Viz! e.g. “Jonathon Ross’s TV programme is an absolute disgrace! I cannot believe the language I hear when I watch his programme”. Meddlesome Ratbag,,,

What they did was an error of judgement. Hands up, say sorry, perhaps a slight slap on the wrist. All Sachs wanted was an apology. Top bloke, Sachs.

I think we’re now seeing that the tide is turning against “The Daily Mail brigade”. I love it when that happens.

You know what I got out of this? I got to appreciate Russell Brand for the first time. I’d always dismissed him in the past. Watched Ponderland last week and thought it was great. Wouldn’t have done that without the Mail.

Interesting that when there’s a shift and something new comes along, some of the older generation (not all, not me) take one look and call it “rubbish”. The amount of people calling Brand rubbish over the last few days makes me think that the lad has a very bright future indeed.
