Calm down Greg, don’t get excited.

All the subjects for this series are indeed women, although, as you know, I paint any gentleman, lady, beggar, borrower, or vandal that comes along (http://tomrowland.co.uk/portraitpaintings.html).

In this series I am playing with colour and physical geometry, and trying to see how I can capture the personality of the subject in the colours and rhythms of the shapes. For me, the feminine qualities of the subjects provide the continuity between the paintings. Perhaps this series is about femininity. I will see how it develops.

I am going to do a different series of male subjects, in which I am sure you will surely figure, so get in front of a mirror and start practising looking deep. I don’t know, stare into space, and try to touch your nose with your top lip. That usually works.
