Allow me a gastronomic comparison: the existence of avant garde molecular cookery after the ideas of Heston Blumenthal does not in any way make a good plate of fish and chips any less tasty. We don't need photographers to tell us a sunset is beautiful, but every now and then it is nice to look at one, whether in the flesh or as a 'graph.
